Durham
Why Durham Businesses Order Here
Durham is a research town with a fiercely local business culture, and those two things pull apparel in different directions. Duke University and its health system employ more than 48,000 people and are the largest employer in the county, while downtown runs on independent restaurants, breweries, studios, and small firms that would rather not look corporate.
We work in both directions. Clinical and lab teams get scrubs, lab coats, and layers with names and credentials stitched small and clean. Downtown businesses get one good garment done properly rather than a case of promotional shirts — and a six-piece minimum that makes that possible.
Who we outfit
What Durham Organizations Put Their Logo On
Clinical, laboratory, and research teams
Embroidered scrub tops, lab coats, softshells, and quarter-zips for practices, labs, and departments. Names and credentials sized to stay legible, and new staff added later from the file we already hold.
RTP and life sciences employers
Research Triangle Park sits on Durham's doorstep, and pharmaceutical manufacturing keeps expanding there — Eli Lilly alone committed $450 million to its RTP facility. Site teams, contractors, and vendor crews all need apparel that identifies them on a controlled site.
Restaurants, breweries, and hospitality
Durham's food scene is the reason a lot of people visit. Front-of-house polos and button-downs, aprons chosen to survive a real kitchen, and embroidered caps that sell at the register instead of being handed out.
Studios, startups, and downtown independents
Design and software shops, salons, boutiques, and service businesses around American Tobacco and downtown. Smaller quantities, better garments, and a chest mark sized for a real room.
How Ordering Works
- Six-piece minimum on embroidery — and it can be mixed across item types, so a small team can start properly
- Digitizing once per logo — $24 standard, $45 complex, $10 if you already own the stitch file, and nothing on reorders
- Proof before production — your mark placed on the garment color you chose, approved by you before a needle moves
- Turnaround — embroidery ships in 7–10 business days once you approve the proof
- Names and titles — individual personalization while the company logo stays identical across the staff
- Specifications kept on file — garment, color, thread, placement, and stitch file, so next year's order is one message

Embroidery, Print, or Both
Polos, caps, layers, outerwear
Embroidery. A stitched mark gives structured company apparel a finished, dimensional look and reads as a real uniform rather than a giveaway.
Event shirts and larger runs
Screen printing, from twelve garments, with no screen or setup charge. The right answer for a large front design or a quantity that has to hit a price.
One piece, or full color
DTF. A single replacement shirt for a new hire, a photographic logo, or artwork with gradients that thread cannot reproduce honestly.
Durham questions
Questions From Durham Buyers
Do you deliver to Durham?
Yes, free to area businesses, and RTP and Chapel Hill are in the same run. There is no pickup option, and anything outside the area ships.
Can you embroider our Duke department logo?
Only with written authorization. University marks are licensed trademarks, and a department cannot simply hand them to any decorator — the order has to go through the university's licensing rules. Send us what your department is permitted to use and we will work inside it. We would rather tell you this up front than have your order rejected after it is sewn.
Can you match apparel for a team split across sites?
Yes. One approved stitch file and one set of specifications, with orders shipped to each location. Garment dye lots can shift slightly between orders, so if exact matching across everyone matters, order together.
What is the minimum for a small restaurant or studio?
Six pieces for embroidery, and it mixes across item types — four polos, an apron, and a cap counts. DTF has no minimum at all, and screen printing starts at twelve garments.
